Brooks then turned half left and took this photograph of two men crawling on hands and knees towards the trench. They are on the New Beaumont Road and are probably Lancashire Fusiliers who were wounded earlier. (IWM Q752)

Shot 31.2 continues with a man in shirt sleeves moving towards the camera carrying a man on his back. The casualty is the same man earlier photographed by Ernest Brooks. He appears to be unconscious and although badly injured, has no obvious wounds. The left sleeve and side of his tunic are torn and there are also tears to the right sleeve. On his upper sleeve is a 29 Division battle patch. (IWM Q79501)
